Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s share of Pakistan's GDP has historically comprised 10.5%, amounting to over US$ 30 billion. The Province accounts for 11.9% of Pakistan's total population. The part of the economy that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa dominates is forestry, where its share has historically ranged from a low of 34.9% to a high of 81%, giving an average of 61.6%. More than 20% of Pakistan's mining output and 78% of marble comes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
KP being strategically located has access to Afghanistan through Torkham Border just 50 Kms from Peshawar. Access to China Khunjerab Pass is just 800 kms from Peshawar.
China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route passes through KP, this will give the province an economic uplift and industrial boost. Under the CPEC initiative KP will develop modern industrial parks which is a treatment of futuristic vision of a prosperous and developed KP. It gives KP the location benefit and an optimistic future for the investors of KP.
